I love zaxworks, Its realy super, just one thing is slowing down everything and even makes working with zaxswerks imposible, you need photoshop ans AE. If you don’t have thos very expencief programs, is “game over” for zaxswerks !!! Guys there are other vector programs !!! Cheaper, faster and working much more simple and thats what i think “you goal”. Making everything faster and beter. Look at “magix Xtreme Photo & Graphic Designer” I work with it all the time, Thats a fast program and simple. A bit like zaxwerks. Thats what holding me down to buy other products from zaxwerks. You only can work with .ai. thats so sad 8-(. Greetings, Peter.
HOLY CRAP! I’ve had ProAnimator for 3 years now and it’s just sunk in with this tutorial. 3D in After Effects! I’ve only used it for logos and stuff but after seeing this… can’t believe I wasted all that time. This is really great. Now I really can’t wait for the next version for CS5 to come out! Good stuff!
Great Tutorial. I’m a Pro-Animator User and interested in Invigorator. Curious to see diferences. . . Only question, is that there is obviously a lot more going on in the scene you open with. . . Lighting mostly (I think) just wish you’d followed through and showed how you got ALL of that effect. Also looks like a whole other object in front, no?
Thanks for the feedback. I think you’ll be happy to hear that we’re integrating a lot of the drawing elements into the next release of 3D Invigorator and ProAnimator! With very advanced drawing tools combined with textures, gradients, noise maps, blending modes, and tiling features, you won’t need Photoshop or Illustrator.
great tutorial by the way !
quick question I just upgrade to CS5
and I notice that invigorator pro does not work in it.. im pretty sure you guys gonna get support for this how soon ?
We’re currently in the process of converting our plug-ins. We are expecting to release the 64-bit compatible plug-ins by the end of Summer. The new version of ProAnimator (which will contain a ton of new features!) will be out a little later, and is expected to be released by Fall.
Great tutorial. It’s tutorials like this that make me want to use Zaxwerks more. The more I work with it the more I find out I can do. I don’t mind importing AE files – I hope you don’t do away with that function in the next version. 64bit will be cool though…should get renders out pretty fast?
Thanks for this tutorial…I admit that ProAnimator is one of the most under-used items in my toolbelt, but this definitely opend some doors that I had previously not dared go through! Keep these kinds of things coming!
I’m not sure if you are referring to importing Illustrator files, but that feature is definitely here to stay. Even though you’ll be able to draw your objects directly from our program, you’ll still be able to import an Illustrator file, and then edit all the vector points from the logo.
You can apply the same techniques you see in ProAnimator as well. You can import the Illustrator file and apply the splits like you see in the tutorial.

This was a well made education tutorial. Showing it this way makes complete sense. Really helped seeing this, as I am self-taught on this program.
