Hola,

Tenemos los materiales disponibles, como el cromo y otros materiales metálicos. Estos materiales se incluyen como valores predeterminados en el programa. También puede exportar todos los objetos que se crean en proanimator a otros programas de 3D como 3D Studio, o MAX.

Mejor,
Edward

Hi Fida,

It sounds like the Material Presets did not load properly. To reset the Presets, go into the ProAnimator Preferences, then click the "Restore" button. This will reset the ProAnimator Presets back to the factory defaults.

Best,
Edward

Hi Patrick,

Which browser are you using? Try using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, and it should work without any problems. If you are still having issues, be sure you have Flash Player installed.

Best,

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the feedback. We had to compress the audio so that the video loads up faster. We may look into other compression methods in the future to improve the audio quality.

Best,
Edward

I find all the tutorial on this site extremely helpful. My only complaint would the the very poor audio quality in most of the videos. With such superb products, it would be nice to have top quality tutorials to go with them. This is a very minor criticism, far outweighed by the tremendous applications that Zaxwerks provides!

Hi Stephen,

For Joe's tutorial, he entered values to avoid moving the objects around and constantly tweaking the objects to see how the objects are positioned. Those are just the final values after tweaking. The idea is to create all the pieces of the Virtual Set, and move them into the appropriate position. If you use the setting "Drag using Object's Axes", it will be easier to position your objects.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Edward

Hi Stephen,

To fix the colors applied on the sides, either apply a separate material on the side, or select the material in the Material Docks. This expands the Material Docks section. Go into the Mapping controls, and select the option "Planar Front+" and this will apply the gradient like a cookie cutter effect throughout the text.

Best,
Edward

That stats window is a handy little item, providing you can somehow figure out what those six digit figures should be. This project reminds me of the erector set plans I got when I was a kid. They were for building a functioning rocket ship. Unfortunately neither my father nor I had a degree in mechanical engineering so we never got it built.

Fascinating though...

It would have been more interesting to see examples of how the gradients could be used practically on an object. The one you demo'd at the very end looked messed up because the sides changed colors in the middle. I'm thinking there must be a way to avoid this.

Would love to see another tut like this that deals with practical application.

Hi there,

If you get the "There are no usable vector paths" error message, this means you may be saving the Illustrator file with compression, or are using pixel elements within the Illustrator file.

To fix this, uncheck the "Use Compression" checkbox when saving the Illustrator file. Or, to be safe, you can save the Illustrator file as a Illustrator 8 or Illustrator 10 format. Next, be sure you are not using any pixel elements such as including a JPEG image as a background, or use effects such as drop shadows or blends.

Hope this helps. If you're still running into issues, please let me know.

Best,
Edward

Hi Ted,

If the video isn't playing right away, you may have to wait a little while for the video to stream. Then the video will start playing. The video is quite lengthy, and which is why it may take a while to load.

Best,
Edward

Hi Joseph,

Right click on the link, and use the command "Save Linked File As". This will let you save the Illustrator file. If you're on a Mac, instead of right clicking, "Control + Click" the link.

Best,

Hi Edward,

Thanks so much for a great tutorial. I also viewed a little of the other great ones and will go back to them once I'm up to speed on the basics. Now it's time to animate my logo.
Thanks Again.

Hi Reginald,

If you are working with Invigorator or ProAnimator as a plug-in, you would click the "OK" button and it will render out your animation into the After Effects composition window.

Then you can use the RAM Preview command to watch your animation play back with all your other After Effects elements.

The great thing is that the project is kept live, so you can keep going into Invigorator or ProAnimator and making edits without re-rendering!

Best,
Edward

Hi Josh,

At the moment, the 3D Warps plug-in is not yet available for After Effects CS5. This is why the plug-in is not showing up in the Effects menu.

If you are interested in working with warping effects, the newest version of 3D Invigorator PRO and also ProAnimator have 3D Warps integrated into the program. This lets you perform object deformations on both your 3D Text, logos, or planes.

For more information, please visit the product pages below:

http://zaxwerks.com/invigorator_pro/index.shtml

http://zaxwerks.com/proanimator/index.shtml

We are finishing up the CS5 version of 3D Warps and expect the plug-in to be released within the next few months.

Best,
Edward

Hi Michael,

First create a camera track. Then, double click on the timeline to create a Pose. Be sure the yellow time marker is pointing to a Camera Pose. Then, change the camera position from one Pose to the next, and when you drag the yellow time marker across the timeline, you will be able to see your camera animation.

Best,

Hi Andy,

We're working on more video tutorials. We split up the video tutorials so you can go through the features one at a time. This is for users who don't have the time to watch one long tutorial.

Sorry for the confusion on upgrades. To upgrade, go to the Store > Price List page, and under the ProAnimator section, select the option "Upgrade from ProAnimator AE". This will let you upgrade from version 4 to version 5.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Best,

We’re working on more video tutorials. We split up the video tutorials so you can go through the features one at a time. This is for users who don’t have the time to watch one long tutorial.

Sorry for the confusion on upgrades. To upgrade, go to the Store > Price List page, and under the ProAnimator section, select the option “Upgrade from ProAnimator AE”. This will let you upgrade from version 4 to version 5.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Best,
Edward

Nice tutorial but how about an overview video of ALL the new features so we can see them in action -- and some quick link to an upgrade I was ready to buy immediately but I go to products and get a link to the OLD Pro Animator -- upgrades gives a confusing list of possible paths - i just want to upgrade this - Thanks Andy

The background color does not get applied if you have the "Alpha Channel" check box enabled.

To render the animation with a transparent background, click the Camera button to go to "Camera Mode". Then, enable the checkbox for "Alpha Channel". Once you have the Alpha Channel checked, you can render the animation using the Render Movie button.

More about rendering to a transparent background - how do you eliminate the background color if one is selected in the "bkgd" the color picker does not seem to have a none or transparent selection

Right. This is version 5 of 3D Invigorator. If you are a current user of 3D Invigorator version 4, you will need to upgrade your license to version 5 in order to use all the new features of the program.

Hi Michael,

Sure. Any object you create can be animated in After Effects by using keyframes.

This is version 5. So, if you are a current user of version 4, you would need to upgrade to version 5 in order to get the authorization code for version 5.

Hi Patrick,

Great looking project! To get the backfacing to work, you may be running into an issue where the "Best Geometric Detail" is set too low. Try increasing the value of "Best Geometric Detail" to "400x400". See if that helps. If you have set your layer to Draft Quality, change the "Draft Geometric Detail" to "400x400".'

Let me know if you are still having any issues.

Best,
Edward

Hi Edward,

Thanks for the quick reaction!

The thing I mean is how to get the backfacing color map to be a layer of my choice. Now it is a mirror of the front facing map or it is white of color (when I apply my back facing color map)

http://pjfilm.nl/preview.zip (examples)

Hope you can tell me what to do!

You can also email me in reply.

Thnx!

Hi Patrick,

I'm not sure what you mean when you mentioned that you cannot get the color map to appear on the background. Do you mean applying a background for After Effects? Since 3D Warps has an alpha channel, anything you place behind that layer will show up as a background.

Please elaborate and let me know what you mean.

Hi Patrick,

I’m not sure what you mean when you mentioned that you cannot get the color map to appear on the background. Do you mean applying a background for After Effects? Since 3D Warps has an alpha channel, anything you place behind that layer will show up as a background.

Please elaborate and let me know what you mean.

Best,
Edward

Hi Keith,

Sure, you can use ProAnimator and use Layer Maps to achieve the same results. ProAnimator and 3D Invigorator have the same abilities in object creation and also in terms of coloring and mapping materials.

Best,
Edward

Hi Zoran,

When you are in the Scene Preview window, you may not be able to see the transparency. To do a test render of what your objects look like, you can hold down the "Ctrl/Cmd" key, and this will cause "Render Movie" ("OK" button if you are using the plug-in inside of After Effects) to turn into the "Test" button. Once you click on the Test button, you will see a render preview of your scene, and you should be able to see your transparent material.

Best,
Edward

This is one of the most helpful tutorials I have ever watched. May have actually pointed me in the right direction on a current project. You also did not pick an "easy-out" example in Illustrator.

Wish we had more of these tutorials for Pro Animator!

Hi Michael,

You can either ungroup the layers in Illustrator by using the "Ungroup" command, or ungroup the objects in ProAnimator by using the "Dismantle Incoming Groups" option when importing the Illustrator file.

Best,
Edward

Hi Michael,

You can't use the same techniques in Photoshop because Photoshop and Illustrator work differently with their vector tools. In Photoshop, you would need to draw the vector paths with your Pen tool, so you would need to use the Work Paths instead.

If you need great Photoshop techniques, check out the Digital Juice Fonts in ProAnimator tutorials. Those tutorials will give you great pointers to obtain paths from just a picture in Photoshop.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Edward

Hi Michael,

A texture map is just an image that you want to load onto a material. You can load textures, bumpiness, reflections, etc all onto one material. You can then apply a material onto an object.

To create a texture map, simply save an image as a PSD or a JPEG.

Then, in ProAnimator, create a new material, and load the image as a texture map. After applying the material onto your object, you will be able to see your image applied on your object.

Best,
Edward

Hi Michael,

The only way to use a gradient color from Illustrator is to save the gradient color as an image file. Then, import the image file as a texture map into ProAnimator as a texture map.

The "Use Illustrator Colors" option only uses solid colors from Illustrator.

Best,
Edward

Hi Jerry,

ProAnimator is currently not compatible with After Effects CS5. We are working on the conversion at the moment, and the new version is expected to be released by the end of Fall. The new version will include numerous features and will also be 64-bit compatible with After Effects CS5.

In the mean time, you can still work with ProAnimator as a standalone and render out the movie with an alpha channel.

When the new version is released, we will be sending out notices to all of our users.

Sorry for any inconveniences.

Best,
Edward
