Zaxwerks is proud to announce that 3D Invigorator version 5 for After Effects has just been released!
This is a MAJOR release. 3D Invigorator has been completely reinvented. You can now do things in After Effects that were never possible before. We have added hundreds of new features designed to make your work faster, easier and more productive; to save you time and help you make more money.
Highlights include:
Integrated Drawing Window
All 3D objects have to be modeled. 3D modeling is traditionally very difficult but Zaxwerks has made this easy as pie. As you draw, the 3D model is created for you, on the fly. Right before your eyes. As you edit the 2D paths the 3D objects are re-built in real time. Need to add holes? No problem. If you draw one path inside of another path the program knows what to do. Hate Bezier curves? Again no problem. Our exclusive Auto-Curve tool figures out the curves for you.

Live Text Editing
Most of your text and logo animations begin life as fonts. But what if you have to make changes to the shapes of the letters? Ordinarily this means converting the text to outlines, which prevents you from going back and making changes to the fonts. A perplexing quandary.
So we solved that puzzle by giving you the best of both worlds. In Invigorator 5 you can edit the Bezier curves of text characters without having to convert them to paths. This allows you to make texty-type changes (switch justification, change margins, etc) and any edits you’ve made to the curves will be preserved.

Warping
Flat text and logos have their place, but nothing makes a client’s logo pop off the screen quite like bending it. 3D Invigorator PRO 5 can now do exactly that. Warping has been built directly into the After Effects time line so you can bend, twist, fold, bulge, taper, wave and ripple your 3D objects as you work on the rest of your comp.

Workflow-Based Interface
A program with lots of features usually pays the price of complexity. Complicated programs take a long time to learn and most features are hidden under layers of user interface, so Zaxwerks has gone out of its way to bring the features to the user. A simple set of workspace buttons presents the tools and controls you need, when you need them. Panels can be arranged to fit your personal monitor size and your working style. Additionally, hundreds of enhanced Tool Tips explain what every button and control does and how to use it, saving you valuable time and making you an expert, tip by tip.
Materials & Mapping
What good is a really cool model if it isn’t covered with a really cool texture? 3D Invigorator v5 has added a powerful texture creation system which has over 30 different procedural noises and the best gradient designer on the market to let you create surface treatments so luscious they’ll make your mouth water.
Of course if you don’t want or need all this power you can leave it hidden and never have to get your fingers dirty. The power is always a click away but Zaxwerks doesn’t force you to deal with it if you don’t want to. Remember, good workflow reduces the complexity.
Text Substitution
So you have 100 graphics to do and you’re on a budget? Time to let 3D Invigorator PRO help you out. Version 5 adds Text Substitution an amazing new feature where you can set up an animation once, then by linking the animation to a spreadsheet of data, get it to render all the variations automatically. No more hand-editing every graphic. Just a way to become extraordinarily productive overnight.
Designed For You
3D Invigorator v5 has so many new features we don’t have space to talk about them all. Lathe modeling; 16/32 bit rendering; Animatable Pivot Points, User-Drawn Bevels and support for Open Type fonts are just a few of the huge set of new features. But at the heart of it all is a workflow design that is like no other.
This program was designed by designers. Folks who want to get the job done as quickly and professionally as possible, and want tools that can help them advance to the next levels of their craft. This program is a masterpiece of workflow. It works quickly, efficiently, with a low learning curve and an amazing ability to let you re-use previous work and to respond to client changes without losing precious time.

3D Invigorator is compatible with After Effects:
Windows CS3 – CS6
Macintosh CS3 – CS6
When working with After Effects CS6, be sure to turn off the Disk Caching feature to avoid an issue with the plug-in not updating properly.

Congratulations on the release Zax. Best wishes, John.
Great job. We’ve all been waiting for 64bit version. Thanks
This really looks excellent! It also seems that you have worked to make the product less dependent on illustrator – which is a good thing! So, how long till ProAnimator 5 is out?
I have always been a bit confused why folks would purchase Invigorator over Proanimator. Proanimators unique and powerful animation abilities seem to blow away Invigorators plodding use of keyframes. And since they use the same engines for reflections and textures, I just dont get it. Please educate me
You have truly hit a home run on this one Zax.. As usual you are putting out great stuff with real world usuability and at a price point where it really makes sense. CONGRATS BIG TIME !!
Hey Andrew, ProAnimator is up next. We are hoping to have it out before Christmas but it may slip to January. Hope not but it’s hard to forecast software. Like Invigorator, ProAnimator will be released for Windows CS3/4/5 and Mac CS3/4 first. Followed by Mac CS5 later.
Tom, I’m on the same page as you! ProAnimator makes animation so danged fast I don’t see why anyone would want anything else. But they do, so I can only guess that for some folks, keyframes just feel right. Even so I’d say that for anyone trying to get an edge in the market, ProAnimator would help you take a big step in that direction. So if you’ve been ignoring ProAnimator based on an assumption about what it will or won’t do, it would perhaps be worth your while to take a closer look.
What are your experiences?
Mike, thanks for your support. We’ve been working really hard on this release so I’m glad it shows. The whole goal is to make your work faster, easier and better looking so guys like you can make more money. I want our software to pay for itself as quickly as possible.
Thanks Zax, I’ll start raiding the piggy-bank in anticipation
Looks like a lot of work went into this latest update. I think I’m most excited about the new GUI panels. Deformations look awesome! The drawing features seem like they could speed up a lot of work flow situations. Way to go guys! I can’t wait to try it out.
This is the moment i’ve been waiting for,Proanimator 5 five will be be here soon!
Sounds like you you really do not need after effects anymore?
Thank you Zax !
Wow, I can’t wait to dive into this version. So many great new features – warping, lathe objects, bezier that works like Photoshop’s (and NOT Illustrator’s). You also seem gloriously close to creating a stand-alone 3D app that is ACTUALLY intuitive to use…. Great job, Invig team!
So stoked about the updates… You guys rock! Thanks Edward and Zax.
Looking for update bundle of proanimator. Look forward to seeing you guys at NAB soon.
I see that the 5 upgrade is available now for CS3 and CS4 (Mac). If I upgrade now (to start learning how to use it), will there be another charge to upgrade to the CS5-compatible release?
Hi Jim
You wouldn’t need to upgrade twice. If you upgrade now to version 5, you will be eligible to get the CS5 compatible version for free when it releases.
Best,
Edward
Cool. I can still be a beta tester if you need me. Windows 7, Alienware i7 Extreme Core Processor, 8 GB Ram, Master Collection CS5 with latest updates.
any ETA on ProAnimator. Im bursting at the seems. Happy New Year and much success in the new year for your company.:)
Hi Dave,
We’re working on the final preparations. It should be released within the next couple weeks.
Happy New Year and best wishes to you as well!
- Edward
Yes, yes, yes.:)
3D Invigorator Pro 5.0.2 as 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 still breaks down After Effects.
What else to expect from a firm that can not fix their Download page for several years …
User, what are you talking about? Any installation problems have turned out to be problems with video drivers and other things specific to a single person’s computer or a specific project file. If you are having an installation problem please write to support@zaxwerks so we can help you.
Hello!
Have a question, I have AftereffectsCS3 and 3D invig PRO 4.3.1 and it works well.
Now I have upgraded to AftereffectsCS5 and now does’nt 3DInvig PRO 4.3.1. work.
Should’nt 3D Invig PRO work on AFCS4 and AFCS5 to?
Hi Frederic,
Version 4.5.1 will work in CS4, but not in CS5. Lots of stuff changed in CS5 and we have to rewrite the program to make it compatible.
The Mac CS5 compatible version should be ready second quarter 2011.
Hey guys, a lot of folks forget that ProAnimator is standalone as well, which has helped tremendously ever since I upgraded to CS5, although I can’t wait for the new version.
Great point Rex! You CS5 guys can always run ProAnimator as a standalone, render movies with alpha channels and then import them into AE as footage. It’s not a perfect solution but it means you aren’t down for the count with no 3D capabilities.
Thanks for the update Edward. See you at NAB!
Hey Zaxwerks,
Am I reading the price list correctly that owners of ProAnimator 3 standalone have no upgrade/sidegrade options for 3D Invigorator v5? It only mentions ProAnimator AE & FX…
-Tom
Hi Tom,
The ProAnimator standalone is part of the ProAnimator AE package, so you can use the ProAnimator AE sidegrade option to sidegrade to 3D Invigorator PRO version 5.
Best,
Edward
Cool. I use a pc anyways:) I’m happy
[...] 3D Invigorator Blog Post: http://zaxwerks.com/blog/2010/12/03/3d-invigorator-version-5-0-available/ [...]
Hi there!
Needless to say, Invigorator Pr0 is way more than just powerfull tool to use within AE environment.
Although we have been waiting for a x64 version pretty long time, the aplication is still in need of improvement or update, especially texture mapping bug.
Unfortunately, I am unable to get the textures set on randomly imported 3D objects (obj, 3ds, ect). Even if i set the texture ‘rocksolid’, I keep on loosing it whenever I save the AE project or try to render things out.
Not sure if this is just me or other people are experiencing exact same issue as well.
Texture mapping in the previous version for CS4 works perfectly though, so there has to be some kind of an issue in here with CS5 x64 platform compatibility.
I would really appreciate any kind of feedback or clear info on the commomnly known issues, that have not been fixed completely.
Best regards,
Nat
Hi Natalia,
Sometimes, Multiprocessing can cause flickering when you are rendering an animation. This is because the texture map gets lost when it it being passed through the different cores. This may be what is causing your textures to not show up properly as well. Try turning off Multiprocessing and see if you are running into the same problems.
If this is not helping, please send me a project file to ed@zaxwerks.com so I can take a look at your project setup and see what you are running into.
Best,
Edward
